a world where madness has no meaning

madness ensues
as soon as the first glimpses of morning
have left their impression
on the mind.

sanity has left the building,
it’s gone out the window,
jumped straight into city traffic.

madness closes in,
enveloping,
the brain
in a misty haze.

fog so thick you could eat it with a spoon.

thoughts running amok,
too fast to chase,
too slick to follow.

a soundtrack for every day,
old songs
playing in the background,
over and over again.

dizziness,
distortion,
delirium.

take a seat,
take a sip,
close your eyes
and imagine the whole world
getting sucked
into a vortex
— a small, unobtrusive
passage to
another world.

a world where madness
has no meaning.
